With a full 10.4” XGA (1024 x 768) AMLCD, the rugged display features IEE’s dual mode backlight system supporting variable reading modes from a high bright mode of 600 cd/m2 to NVIS lighting for dark environments.

World’s First All-aluminum Customer Pole Display Meets Fire, Smoke and Toxicity Safety Regulations

Van Nuys, Calif., – December 2012 – IEE, Inc., renown for its innovative, cutting-edge display technologies, now offers the world’s first all-aluminum pole display, expanding the company’s existing line of high-quality, high-reliability retail POS display peripherals.
Developed to comply with US public transportation fire-smoke-toxicity (FST) regulations, IEE’s new 2X20 9 mm vacuum fluorescent display (VFD) pole displays are replacing molded plastic poles with those made from flame-resistant aluminum. This makes the new displays ideal for use in mass transit applications such as ferries, trains and buses.
The new VFD Pole Display is designed to communicate through either a serial or USB interface. It comes in selectable pole lengths from 2” to 22”, and can be finished with selected lens and paint colors.

New IEE Low-profile 1D/2D Scanner Goes Beyond Simple Price Verification

April 2012 – IEE, Inc., renowned for its innovative, cutting-edge display technologies, has enhanced its popular ScanVue retail price scanner to include reading of both 1D and 2D barcodes in the same unit. Available at the same price point as the previous model, the new ScanVue2D now enables retailers to turn a simple price verification system into a powerful consumer engagement tool. The unit is easily installed in retail POS locations, such as on the store floor or in stand-alone kiosks.
Although initially developed to check pricing on the retail floor, ScanVue2D uses a highly-integrated ARM processor that supports 2D animated graphics and video playback capabilities. Retailers can now deliver more content and customized messages directly to in-store customers while they are still shopping. A highly-integrated ARM processor and a more sophisticated scanning engine make the unit 50% faster, further increasing the consumer’s ease of use.
